Depict Evaluation

the was to make a 90 second short film for a competition called DepicT. It could be anything we wanted it to be as long as it was no more than 90 second long. Anyone could enter it. it cost nothing to enter.

I like this shot (long shot) as its stable and can see whats going on it is very good at establishing the scene and lasts just the right amount of time.

one of the best shots in our short film was the whip pan as it was very smooth and very quick we did the timings just right so it looked very good and well done.

I liked the camera work in our short  as it was very cleverly short and had a range of different shots in ranging from close ups to long shots tracking shots to pans and they all fit together well.

we had to flip this scene as we had broke the 90 degree rule. the flip wasn't picked up on by the class so i think we hid it pretty well. you can notice as the ceiling slants the opposite way and the lockers are on the other side. the were a lot of errors in the video such as props being in shots that they shouldn't of which were picked up on by the class.

we used a variation of props and we kept the lighting the same the whole way through and wore the same clothes all the way through and tried our best to keep the props out of the shots that they weren't needed in but we failed when we had the spray in a shot near the beginning.

as you can see in this shot you can see the spray in a shot that it wasn't needed in it ruined the whole film as the spray was the thing we had to collect but it was already in the classroom so it ruins the whole film.

the music fit well with the genre off the film as it was fast paced and the right speed for an action film. we made sure that is was copyright free when we got it. There was very few lines in the film and when there was they all fit well in the film with the lines as they had all be cut up and the scenes had been sped up.

I was happy with the film apart from the bits with the props in when they weren't supposed to be and all the errors in the film apart from that it was what we aimed for. The editing was well done (i'm afraid to edit) so i must get more confident at it
