Production Runners are used by the Producer and by other production staff. They help out wherever they are needed on productions. Their responsibilities vary depending on where Production Runners are assigned. In the Production Office duties might include answering telephones, filing paperwork and data entry.
A Film Director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualizes the screenplay (or script) while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design, and the creative aspects of filmmaking.
As a film video editor you'll be responsible for assembling recorded raw material into a finished product that's suitable for broadcasting. The material may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects.
The director of photography also known as the DP or the cinematographer, assists the film director by establishing the visual look of the movie. As a DP, you'll help tell the story through the artistic and technical decisions you make regarding lighting, film stock, shot selection, camera operation and other elements.
Camera operators physically control camera equipment both in studio and on location for film, television and video broadcasts and recordings.
A media researcher will normally: Use the internet, books, museums and other available information to research topics for TV and radio programmes. Search media libraries and archives for music, photographs and film footage. Write briefs for presenters or research documents for scriptwriters and producers.
Producers play an integral role in the television, film and video industries. In this role you will oversee each project from conception to completion and may also be involved in the marketing and distribution process. You'll work closely with directors and other production staff on a shoot.
The location manager is a member of the film crew responsible for finding and securing locations to be used, obtaining all fire, police and other governmental permits, and coordinating the logistics for the production to complete its work.
